Keeping the default colors would be best, but the maroon works fairly well. I like the use of maroon in the Navigation bar. This screen is a great example of providing information and “action items.” A screen set up similarly to this one may work well for UMass Guide’s “welcome screen.” 3. The iPhone 4 and its 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi resolution are the new standard. It was designed for the iPhone 3GS and its 480-by-320 resolution at 163 ppi. ![]() The resolution of the icon is much too small. The athletic “UM” or “UMass” logos may be better fits, given their “modern” designs. The university seal is a good choice for the icon. I’m honored to have the opportunity to provide my feedback. When creating an iPhone app, publishers become a part of Apple’s world. One of the reasons Apple is so successful with their products is their attention to detail. User Experience Review of UMass iPhone App Update: This app and its successor seem no longer to be available. The app was developed in-house as it were, by a current UMass Computer Science student named Daniel Stewart ’12 with editorial assistance from UMass Sports Management major, Stephanie Cheung ’12. It’s an excellent idea and it will be very helpful to students & UMass community members. In August, I reviewed a UMass iPhone app for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, called “ UMass Guide” (preview link, will not open iTunes). ![]()
